Originally, Anna and Vince found 10 acres and a little house in 2008 and started clearing blackberries, plowing fallow fields, building hoop-houses, sheds and a small barn. It took them four years while farming part time to "collect" all of the equipment and specialty farm gear to raise enough vegetables and berries.
During that time they never used conventional fertilizers or synthetic pesticides as their mission is to provide healthful food to our local community that is safe and nourishing. Instead, they practice crop rotation, soil fertility and exclusion to limit pest damage. All the techniques are intended to be regenerative so that by building healthy soils they grow healthy food.
Now, Vince grows for some of the top restaurants in town. He cares about his land and ensures only the best veggies leave with his stamp on it. He's committed to being fair to his land, his employees, and those that buy from his farm. He also teaches at his local school on gardening!
