Farm Size: Here's a quick note about how the farm size impacts the involvement of the farmer/owner.

Vegetable Farm
0-20 Acres: The farmer is usually in the fields with the workers every day or just about every day.
21-80 Acres: The farmer is involved in the daily operations but is just as much overseeing as getting their hands in the dirt.
81-150 Acres: The farmer is mostly making high-level decisions and they're likely producing enough to distribute throughout a metro area.
150+ Acres: The farm is likely distributing at least to a quartile of the United States if not all of it.

Orchards and Dairy Cows:
0-75 Acres: The farmer is on the fields every day with the workers
75-350 Acres: The farmer is involved in the daily operations but their key role is managing workers and making big farming decisions such as when to plant/harvest or move pastures
350+ Acres: The farmer is still a farmer making the big decisions but won't have their hands on as much of the product or animals.
