Hoja Santa leaf's are also used to make teas or medicine. Hoja Santa is used for respiratory conditions including cold, fever, coughs, asthma, chronic bronchitis, tuperculosis, dry mouth, and also relieve of muscle spasms.
It is often used in Mexican cuisin for tamales, the fish or meat wrapped infragrant in Mole Verde, the green sauce originated in the Oaxacan region of Mexico. It is also chopped to flavor soups and eggs. Also used to flavor teas or chocolate drinks.
